Key facts
Current live opt-in workflow
This page shows the exact paper-form consent workflow currently used for Bump Reviews SMS.
Customers opt in by signing the Bump Reviews paper form directly with the business before any review-request SMS is sent. Consent is optional, is not a condition of purchase or service, and applies only to post-service review-request SMS messages from that business.
The blank sample form below is the standard template businesses using Bump Reviews are required to use. The signed copy must be retained by the business outside Bump Reviews.
What Is Bump Reviews?
Bump Reviews is a B2B SaaS platform that enables local service businesses, like plumbers, contractors, cleaners, and other trades, to send post-service review request SMS messages to their own customers. Businesses use Bump Reviews to contact only their own customers who have already given prior express written consent directly to that business.
Who Sends the Messages?
SMS messages sent via Bump Reviews originate from the business you recently interacted with, not from Bump Reviews directly. The business uses our platform to request a review of the service they performed for you.
Bump Reviews does not purchase, rent, or source contact lists. Every recipient is an existing customer of the business that sent the message.
How Consent Is Collected
Customers are enrolled in review-request SMS only after giving prior express written consent directly to the business on the signed Bump Reviews paper form that clearly authorizes post-service review-request SMS messages.
๐ Signed Bump Reviews Paper Form
The customer provides consent directly to the business on the signed Bump Reviews paper form before any review-request SMS is sent. The form clearly states that the customer agrees to receive post-service review-request SMS messages, and consent cannot be required to receive the underlying service.
Example Paper Form Consent Language

Up to 2 messages may be sent per completed visit, typically 1 initial review request and 1 reminder. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Msg & data rates may apply.

How Consent Is Collected & Enforced
Before any SMS message is sent through Bump Reviews, the following must occur:
- Customer provides prior express written consent to the business through the signed Bump Reviews paper form that clearly discloses post-service review-request SMS messages and states that consent is not required for purchase or service.
- Message frequency is limited to up to 2 messages per completed service visit, typically 1 initial review request and 1 reminder.
- The business must complete Bump Reviews SMS compliance setup before sending any SMS. The account holder must confirm the business uses the Bump Reviews paper form and retains signed consent records outside Bump Reviews. Bump stores consent metadata and opt-out/audit events, not signed customer forms.
- The business must attest before each send. The Bump Reviews send screen requires the sender to confirm the customer already gave prior express written consent on the signed Bump Reviews paper form and record the consent date before the SMS send button can be used.
- Opt-out is honored immediately and permanently. If a customer replies STOP, they are removed from all future messages across the platform. This opt-out is stored in our database and cannot be overridden by the business.
How Bump Reviews Enforces Consent Before Sending
Bump Reviews does not let a business send review-request SMS until the business confirms its written-consent workflow and completes a required attestation for the specific customer being messaged.

Consent Date
The SMS send flow requires this attestation plus the written consent source and date before the message can be sent.
